AEPC had organised a Workshop on “Cutting Room 4.0 – The connected Ecosystem for Apparel Manufacturing” in  association with Lectra Technologies in Tirupur on 23rd October'19. 
 
Highlights of the Workshop-
Dr. A.Sakthivel, Vice Chairman, AEPC had inaugurated the workshop and delivered the inaugural address.  During his speech he said that now all the industries talk about 4.0.  and similarly this workshop is also going to teach us about "Cutting Room 4.0".  Further he said that now-a days competition is too much and margins have come down so we have to adopt the latest technology to increase our productivity.  Indeed such type of workshop on new automation and technology only will help us to sustain in the market or otherwise survival is difficult. He had also pointed out that for the last 8 months the benefit of MEIS, ROSCTL and other benefits due from Govt. has struck up and facing lot of hurdles in moving the business.  AEPC jointly with LECTRA organising this workshop to the benefit of the industry and will tell us how to reduce the wastage of fabric and increase our productivity. Cost reduction in Raw material is a good saving to a business.  He had also advised LECTRA to extend the training facility to the individual factories and train them.  This Lectra Machine is useful for the apparel manufacturing units in the present scenario of cost cutting and avoid wastage of fabrics.
 
Mr. Suraj Niranjan, Head of Marketing for Lectra told that this technology "Cutting Room 4.0" is based on the principles of "Industry 4.0". It helps to reduce production costs, measures to improve and sustain operation performance.  It will also improve processes and Project management.
 
Mr. Prasenjeet Shambharkar, Pre-sales Consultant for Lectra delivered his presentation and explained how the machine is functioning and its new technology of 4.0.
