  Rural Development Foundation
 
AEPC Rural Development Foundation:
   
1. NAME
The name of the Society shall be “AEPC RURAL DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION” (Henceforth referred to as the FOUNDATION)

2. REGISTERED OFFICE

The registered office of FOUNDATION shall be located at Apparel House, Sector-44, Institutional Area, Gurgaon-122003(Haryana)

3. AIMS & OBJECTIVES.

A. The main objectives of the FOUNDATION will be as follows:

i) to organize, establish and implement programmes and projects in the area of rural development.

ii) to take all necessary steps for creating employment opportunities for the rural people and in the rural areas especially in the apparel industry.

iii) to work for improving all socio-economic indicators of rural people in the country, especially near the garment manufacturing hubs.

iv) to encourage members of the Apparel Export Promotion Council and other persons/firms connected with the apparel industry to contribute towards rural development.

Note: The rural area for the above objectives and below mentioned incidental objectives will also include slums and poor colonies located in urban areas.)

B. The other objectives incidental to the above main objectives can be listed as follows:

i) to have collaboration with other like minded organizations and specialized agencies for furthering the cause of rural development.

ii) to seek and give technical cooperation and guidance to other agencies in strengthening the rural development services.

iii) to organize conventions, seminars, work shops or to participate in the same or promotion of activities consistent with the main objectives.

iv) to receive grants, assistance, subscriptions, donations and/or other type of funding in cash or kind.

v) to employ and train persons for the project programmes and activities undertaken by the FOUNDATION and give salary, wages, stipend, honorarium etc to them.

vi) to acquire and sale properties/buildings/assets for furthering the objective of the FOUNDATION .

vii) to seek and give grants, assistance, loans etc in kind or cash for carrying out philanthropic activities in the rural areas.

viii) to promote and conduct research/training in various rural developmental fields.

ix) to provide information, consultation and support in the field of rural community development.

x) to support and generate public opinion on matters of rural development.

xi) to devise or assist in devising low cost technology for rural development and economic upliftment of rural community.

xii) to organize relief and rehabilitation programmes and projects in times of natural and man made calamities.

xiii) to back up the activities in the field of rural development with study, research and micro/macro analysis and the dissemination and diffusion of social, socio economic, cultural, medical, technical, spiritual and any other knowledge and information that may be useful.

xiv) to edit, print and publish magazines, books newsletters, articles, research papers and pamphlets etc in the area of Rural Development.

xv) to maintain libraries, reading rooms, organize sports, games, seminars, symposiums, work camps and to undertake literary, cultural, national and artistic activities related to education and rural development.

xvi) to maintain one or more project programme centres and sub-centres in such places as may be determined by the FOUNDATION in furtherance of the aims and objectives from time to time.

xvii) to establish links and collaboration with local, state and central government departments, institutions for the purpose of furthering the development of the weaker and backward sections of the society and other activities of the FOUNDATION.

xviii) To undertake the management and execution of any trust/society which may be conducive to the attainment of aims and objectives of the FOUNDATION.

xix) To rent, construct, alter, maintain any property in furtherance of the aims and objectives of the FOUNDATION.

xx) to remunerate any person or organization/society for services rendered or to be rendered, on or about the formation of the organization/society or the acquisition of property by the organization/society, or the conduct of its business/activities.

xxi) to subscribe to, become a member of, or be affiliated to, and cooperate with any other organization, society, Federation or an Association, whether incorporated or not whose objects are altogether or in part similar to those of the FOUNDATION, and to procure from and communicate to any such organization such information as may be likely to forward the objects of the FOUNDATION.

xxii) to effect all such insurance in relation to the properties of the FOUNDATION and the carrying on of its activities/business or objects and any risk incidental thereto as may seem expedient.

xxiii) to adopt such means of making known the activities and services of the FOUNDATION as may seen expedient, and in particular, by advertising in the press, by circulars, by purchase and exhibition, by publication of periodicals and by granting prizes, rewards and donations.

xxiv) and generally to do all other lawful things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects or any of them, provided that, the FOUNDATION shall not support with its funds or endeavour or impose any activities to be observed by its Members or others, any regulations or restrictions which would make it a trade union.


This foundation is working in close association with AEPC and ATDC.
   
Seminars/workshops:  
To increase productivity and profitability in apparel sector various training programmes on Line Balancing, Production Planning and Profiting from Quality are being organized by AEPC on regular basis, in these seminars/workshops national and international experts are sharing their knowledge and experiences with the participants.
   

International Training:

   
A team of 16 participants (8 ATDC faculty and 8 from apparel industry) were send to CITA, Hong Kong for ten days training in ‘Sewing Engineering & Training Programme’
