1. NAME
The name of the Society shall be “AEPC FOUNDATION FOR LABOUR
WELFARE” (Henceforth referred to as the FOUNDATION)
2. REGISTERED OFFICE
The registered office of the FOUNDATION shall be located at Apparel House, Sector-44, Institutional Area, Gurgaon-122003(Haryana)
3. AIMS & OBJECTIVES.
A. The main objectives of the FOUNDATION will be as follows:
i. to work for the welfare of the personnel employed in the apparel industry and trade and their families, especially in the field of health, general economic upliftment and standard of living.
ii. to organize, establish and implement programmes and projects for the manpower development, skill up-gradation, better health management etc.
iii. to apprise the general public about the opportunities available for employment in apparel sector and to take necessary steps in this regard.
iv. to improve the working conditions in the apparel sector.
B. The other objectives incidental to the above main objectives can be listed as follows:
i) to suggest ways and means for enlarging the scope of productive employment in the various sectors of the apparel industry, keeping in view poverty alleviation and equitable distribution of economic benefits.
ii) to facilitate the introduction of best labour practices in apparel industry and trade.
iii) to conduct study on the status of various labour laws, rules and regulations and their implementation in apparel industry in India, and to suggest and lobby for the changes in the same.
iv) to bench mark the labour standards of domestic industry, and to work towards achieving the best standards.
v) to suggest and implement methods/modules, so as to achieve maximum labour productivity through scientific workload.
vi) to start Factory Improvement Programme (FIP) for increasing quality, productivity and better health and safety standards for the personnel of apparel industry.
vii) to help in building sound labour and management relationship
viii) to develop a work place code of conduct in apparel industry and to evolve a proper monitoring system for the same.
ix) to monitor and evaluate human and labour rights especially in apparel industry and to sensitize the policy makers about these rights.
x) to work for the legitimate rights of workers, especially the female workers in apparel industry
xi) to organize capacity building and training programmes for workers and management.
xii) to organize various programmes, especially relating to health and stress management for the welfare of apparel industry workers.
xiii) to provide technical cooperation to government and other organizations in strengthening their Labour welfare services.
xiv) to promote cooperation/collaboration among various professional groups, which contribute to the advancement and welfare of labour class in the apparel industry.
xv) to propose and organize conventions, seminars and workshops on labour issues and to take all necessary steps to take follow up measures.
xvi) to promote and conduct research/training in various labour issues in apparel industry.
xvii) to support the development of public opinion among all people on matters of labour welfare, especially in apparel industry.
xviii) to develop low cost technology for skill up-gradation/development of apparel industry workers.
xix) to maintain libraries, crèche centers, reading rooms, organize sports, games, seminars, symposiums, work camps for the welfare of the personnel of the apparel industry.
xx) To work towards elimination of child labour in apparel industry, if any.
xxi) to employ and train persons for the projects, programmes and activities undertaken by the FOUNDATION and to give salaries, wages, stipend, emoluments and honorariums etc to them.
xxii) to acquire and sale properties/buildings/assets for furthering the objective of the FOUNDATION .
xxiii) to receive annual subscriptions from members and to receive contributions and donations from members as well as non members and also to mobilize resources.
xxiv) to take grants and/ or loans by fair and legitimate means from any source for any purpose in furtherance of the aims and objectives of the FOUNDATION .
xxv) to establish links and collaboration with local, state and central government departments and international agencies such as ILO etc.
xxvi) to undertake the management and execution of any trust/society which may be conducive to the attainment of aims and objectives of the FOUNDATION.
xxvii) to remunerate any person or organization/society for services rendered or to be rendered, on or about the formation of the organization/society or the acquisition of property by the organization/society, or the conduct of its business/activities.
xxviii) to subscribe to, become a member of, or be affiliated to, and cooperate with any other organization, society, Federation or an Association, whether incorporated or not whose objects are altogether or in part similar to those of the FOUNDATION, and to procure from and communicate to any such organization such information as may be likely to forward the objects of the FOUNDATION.
xxix) to effect all such insurance in relation to the properties of the FOUNDATION and the carrying on of its activities/business or objects and any risk incidental thereto as may seem expedient.
xxx) to adopt such means of making known the activities and services of the FOUNDATION as may seen expedient, and in particular, by advertising in the press, by circulars, by purchase and exhibition, by publication of periodicals and by granting prizes, rewards and donations.
xxxi) and generally to do all other lawful things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects or any of them, provided that, the FOUNDATION shall not support with its funds or endeavour or impose any activities to be observed by its Members or others, any regulations or restrictions which would make it a trade union.
