The latest statistics on China's textile and apparel trade show exports in December rose for the first time in seven months.
According to China Customs figures, exports of textiles and garments rose to 16.79 billion dollars in December, up 4.5 per cent on the same month last year.
This was also the first positive export growth since April 2009, the agency said.
However, the year-end data also means the total value of textile and garment exports from China fell 10.1 per cent in 2009 as a whole to 167.02 billion dollars.
